Daily Non-K-Pop Spotlight: “Like the snow in winter” by Asahi

Music has the power to give voice to the feelings that are otherwise impossible to put into words. Emotions, moods, and even just the memory of a scene can come to mind with the right song. With the weather getting cooler in the northern hemisphere, I’m reminded of a song that perfectly encapsulates the feeling of cold weather, pulling the jacket tighter around you, and being greeted by warm hugs. “Like the snow in the winter” is the perfect song for fall and winter, as the gentle piano, bells, and synths create an atmosphere that is utterly intimate in the way that only a shut-in season could be.

The biggest treat are the tender vocals and smooth drum beats that tie the whole experience together. While I’m personally not a fan of colder weather, I can’t help but admit that this song is wonderful and reminds me of the best parts of the chillier parts of the year. Warm up some hot cocoa or apple cider and settle down with this wonderfully downtempo track!
