BOYNEXTDOOR Breaks the Mold with Genre-Defying 4th EP ‘No Genre’

BOYNEXTDOOR Breaks the Mold with Genre-Defying Mini-Album ‘No Genre’

by Hasan Beyaz

BOYNEXTDOOR is back, and they’re not sticking to the script. The rising six-member group has finally released their fourth mini-album No Genre, making a confident statement about their musical fluidity and creative range.

Across seven tracks, No Genre lives up to its name by seamlessly blending an impressive mix of styles: from the hip-hop-funk energy of title track “I Feel Good” to the jazzy soul of “123-78,” the laidback city pop of “Step By Step,” and the emotional weight of breakup ballad “Next Mistake.”

The album also includes the group’s viral hit “If I Say, I Love You” and an English version of “I Feel Good” – further evidence of their international ambitions.

Known for their ability to lean on each other’s strengths, that collaborative spirit has become a defining trait of BOYNEXTDOOR since their debut under KOZ Entertainment, a HYBE sub-label founded by Zico of Block B. Jaehyun, Taesan, and Woonhak actively contribute lyrics, with the rest of the group involved throughout the creative process – a hands-on approach that has shaped their identity as one of K-pop’s most dynamic new acts.

Fans can find No Genre available in multiple formats: three standard versions (No Matter, No Route, and No Limit), each including a photo book, photocard, poster and more; a Board Game version is tailored to each member, complete with game board packaging and collectible items unique to the concept.

BOYNEXTDOOR has come a long way since their 2023 debut single “WHO!” and previous EP 19.99, which chronicled the transition from youth to adulthood. With No Genre, BOYNEXTDOOR are making their own lane, and they’re doing it on their own terms.
