About
SISTAR was a four-member girl group formed by Starship Entertainment, debuting in June 2010. Consisting of Hyolyn, Bora, Soyou, and Dasom, the group became synonymous with summer in K-pop. Their powerful vocals -- led by Hyolyn, one of the strongest vocalists in the industry -- combined with catchy, upbeat production made them a chart-dominating force for the better part of a decade.
SISTAR's summer anthems became an annual tradition in South Korea, with tracks like "Loving U," "Give It to Me," "Touch My Body," and "Shake It" ruling the charts each year. The group was known for their confident, sexy image and their ability to consistently deliver crowd-pleasing hits. SISTAR disbanded in June 2017 on good terms, making them one of the rare K-pop groups to end with a proper farewell single, "Lonely." Their summer bop legacy remains unrivaled, and Hyolyn in particular has continued as a highly respected solo artist.
